Description: A parable of Southern life featuring an all-Black cast. This light fantasy tells the story of Little Joe Jackson, a shiftless gambler apparently killed in a crap game. His good wife, Petunia, prays so hard that the Lord grants Joe six months to redeem himself. The Lord's General and Lucifer, Jr. do battle for Joe's soul, with the latter aided by the temptress, Georgia Brown. In the end, Petunia saves her husband and the two are able to walk to their cabin in the sky. Songs include: Happiness is a thing called Joe, Life's full o' consequence, Lil black sheep, and Going up. (Does not circulate)
