Description: Advertising photographer Bruce Weber's first film grew out of a 1983 assignment, later halted, with the United States Olympic Boxing Team. Weber's documentary centers on Andy Minsker, a lightweight boxer and his small boxing club in Portland, Oregon. The Mt. Scott Club consists of twelve boxers ranging in age from ten to sixteen. Most of the youngsters are from broken homes; many of their parents are in prison. The film traces Minsker's boxing career with the United States Olympic Boxing Association, his fights in Las Vegas and his training of the young men whom he has practically adopted as his own sons.
