Description: Michel Simon stars as a writer of crime novels who gets his ideas from his daughter. His uneventful, bourgeois existence is disrupted when his cousin, a vicar, arrives unannounced. The novelist's wife is thrown into a panic because her servants have quit and she must assume the cooking duties. She refuses to entertain the visitor and hides in the kitchen. Simon explains that his wife is visiting friends but the vicar disbelieves the story and spreads the word that the writer has murdered his spouse. Scotland Yard arrives to investigate.
