Birth (TEFC)

Part five of the series, “The Family of Man” which sets out to compare family life in five different locations around the world. In this programme, pregnancy, birth and attitudes of women in all five places are examined, with a side-long look at different superstitions which reveal some strange stories. The programme asks, “Do women in peasant countries give birth with less pain and effort? And if so, why?”
