Battle of China

Traces, through the use of map graphics and documentary footage, the Japanese aggression against China from 1933-1944. Discusses the history, land, and population of a disunified China, the growth of the Japanese Army, and summarizes the Tanaka Memorial. Documents the Japanese invasion of Manchuria and the Shang-hai peninsula, the battle of Nan-king, and the massive Chinese retreat to Chung-king. Shows the construction of the Burma Road, Chinese guerrilla warfare, and the Japanese defeat at Chang-sha. Ends with a textual section urging complete U.S. support against the Japanese enemy even after victory in Europe.
