Backyard Theatre

Description: Playwright Michel Tremblay and director André Brassard have a talent for capturing the earthy wit and joual (slang) of Montréal's east-end working-class neighbourhood, rendering them into live theatre described by some critics as 'outrageously funny.' Both their vision and their style have had an important influence on other Québec artists. We experience Les belles-soeurs and Demain matin, Montréal m'attend, as well as an impromptu bit of playacting by the cast of the two plays. 1973 | 27 min Watch more free films on NFB.ca → http://bit.ly/YThpNFB Subscribe to our newsletter → http://bit.ly/NFBnewsletter Follow us on Facebook → http://bit.ly/ytfbNFB Follow us on Instagram → http://bit.ly/2FdmRol Follow us on Twitter → http://bit.ly/yttwNFB Download our free iOS Apps → http://apple.co/2dbva4h Download our free Android Apps → http://bit.ly/2dbvHmO
