Description: This home movie captures scenes of downtown Beaumont on December 19, 1939. Footage includes scenes of the Yount-Manion family and friends gathered at the Southern Pacific Depot. Fabra Auto Supply Co. on the corner of Laurel Ave and Park Street can be seen behind them. At Spindletop Farm in Lexington, Kentucky, the family enjoys a sleigh ride through the snow. The Yount-Manion Films were given to Lamar University by Greg Riley and Fred McKinley. The pair discovered the films while researching their 2005 book, Black Gold to Bluegrass: From the Oil Fields of Texas to Spindletop Farm of Kentucky, which chronicles the legacy of Frank and Pansy Yount.
