He explains his calculations on the age of Earth’s crust and what it would take to send astrophysicists into space. In 1992, NASA awarded Dr. Clayton with the Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal for his work in astrophysics related to the formation of chemical elements in the explosion of stars.
