Aspects of Symmetry

Introduces symmetry through a corps de ballet who demonstrate reflections, rotations, and translations. An architect, biologist, artist, and physicist assist mathematicians in illustrating multi-disciplinary applications: reflection symmetry in a conch shell, the interior design in a house and in most animals; rotation symmetry in an ancient wine vessel and in present-day industrial products; and translation symmetry in architecture, in plants and animals, and in crystals and compounds.
