Description: A record of the New Zealand Expedition to Antarctica during the International Geophysical Year. Shows the party led by Sir Edmund Hillary setting out in the N.Z. Navy Vessel “Endeavour”. Follows their progress through the Antarctic Ocean to Ross Island, and the establishment of Antarctic bases in cooperation with the American party.
