Description: Deals with the wide variety of uses to which animals are put in our modern civilization—to furnish food, clothing material, and power. Scenes from all over the world give typical power uses of animals from the Eskimo sled dog to the Indian elephant. The film shows how few of the 500,000 species of animals have been domesticated—most of them by early man—and now, while power uses of animals are decreasing, more and more are being used for food and for clothing.
