Description: This series was developed to help fill deficiences of resources available for in-service training in the field of mental retardation. The films were made to show the functional teaching approach that stresses gradualism in instruction, transition from one activity to another, and the initial object-orientation from which abstraction may follow. The various mechanical devices used in this program to develop motor, sensory-perceptual, and integrated motor-perceptual skills are unique in their application, but not in their availability.
