Description: This gorgeous 1980 color film "A World of Pictures" was produced for famous Swedish inventor and photographer Victor Hasselblad. It is a series of images set to music and is a long advertisement for Hasselblad cameras for Has. It opens with a crowded street of people walking into the camera intermixed with an outdoor book and magazine stand (:06-:40). The bright blue of a Kippah is shown (:32). Closeups are taken of the magazines and the rack is scanned before taking more photos of people passing by (:41-1 :17). The photo in the stall is shown being made. The many sails of a clipper ship pass by, dwarfing the small sailboats beside it (1:18-1:35). A photographer in an Ostermans helicopter takes photos of clipper ships, shown also as still shots (1:36-2:00). Gears turn (2:02-2:07). The harbor is full of sailboats, and the film returns to the magazine rack (2:08-2:25). A woman in a kimono bows, and others walk on the street, intermingled with many pedestrians (2:26-2:43). A hand spins a postcard rack, choosing one for the Rohsska Museum. The carved ivory face from the postcard is now shown up close at the museum. A photographer sets it up to be photographed and more closeups are shown (2:44-4:18). A woman and a man read on a bench (4:19-4:23). The magazines are shown again, and a cover of men playing cards turns into the cards shown up close in a hand. Money is wagered. The eyes of the card players are closely viewed and the cameraman finishes taking the cover photo (4:24-5:40). More magazines and the camera focuses on the cover showing a jet engine, which is then shown travelling down a runway as the cameraman clicks the shutter. The process is repeated multiple times (5:41-7:08). Photos are taken in a high voltage laboratory (7:09-8:24). Next is capturing a semi-truck cab purposely smashed into a wall (8:25-9:15). Sandhill cranes make their unique squawks as they are filmed (9:16-10:10) and a photo of a chick is shown (10:12). Various types of boat photos are shown and then up-close on deck (10:14-10:37). The photographer is shown with the camera (10:38-10:51). A closeup of a winged insect is shown before close up microscope pictures (10:52-12:16). The process for taking the color photo of a pretty woman on the cover of LaPrimavera magazine is shown (12:24-13:30). A variety of photos are quickly shown (13:31-13:50). A variety of camera lens are shown piled up and the ad for Hasselblad cameras and accessories (13:51-14:04).
