Presents John W Gardner, former Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare, who dramatizes how present American institutions might look when viewed from the perspective of the 23rd century. Shows man increasingly raging against his institutions because most have been designed to resist rather than to facilitate change. Discusses the belief that if the future does not hold destruction for our institutions they must be able to change and would-be reformers must use reason rather than destruction to achieve this end.
