Description: This film documents the lives of men who live and/or work in a setting that requires them to expand their conception of the traditional male role. The film focuses on five men: a homemaker, a nurse, a father raising an infant, a man sharing household responsibilities with a working wife, and a man in equal partnership with a woman. These sequences are alternated with person-on-the-street interviews which address the issues raised by the lifestyles of the five men featured. , Profiles five men in nontraditional roles, such as homemaker and nurse, allowing them to describe the factors influencing their decisions to adopt these roles. Contrasts their satisfaction at work and home with stereotypical sex-role comments of males of all ages in man-in-the-street interviews. Concludes that accepting and maintaining a nontraditional role is difficult but, in the cases of these men, their relationships were richer and stronger for having done so.
