Description: Documents the lives of women in prison by focusing on the women who live in Wolf House, one of the residence cottages at the State Correctional lnstitution at Muncy, Pennsylvania. Explains that the women are housed together even though they come from different backgrounds and are serving various sentences for crimes ranging from writing bad checks to murder. Points out that for most of the residents there is a measure of freedom but there are also bars, security patrols, headcounts, and locked doors. Observes the everyday situations which occur--a phone call to a prisoner's family, an argument between inmates, mail call, night lock-in, and endless discussions about sentences, sex, and the minutia of "doing time." Contains strong language.
