Construction is another area worth examining. Today, we still erect buildings which are little more than a skin of glass stretched over a steel frame. To heat, light, and air condition these mammoth structures requires almost unbelievable amounts of energy. The twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York use more electricity than the entire city of Skenctity. And yet this building is only used 8 hours a day by 50,000 people whereas 200,000 people spend all their time in Skenctity.
