[Music] my Lords and Ladies may I present her most gracious Majesty Queen Elizabeth [Music] thank you my Lords and Ladies and master will it's good to gaze upon you again it's been many months since we have met I imagine State his truth is true it was the happy occasion of a Telethon for the rebuilding of Our Fair old Globe Theater ah so it was uh we have a wonderful thing in store for us tonight I'm sure um what what do you uh what kind of awards do you think we shall award tonight well it is the cultural historic Awards if it please your majesty oh it does indeed let's do it for outstanding achievement in a cultural historic series The Winner Is Bob Mills producer KTTV Channel 10. back in 1880 there were eight lines with 112 miles of track crisscrossing the steep hills now only 17 miles of track remain on three lines their frequent attempts to do away with the cable cars altogether but the public climber to keep the cable cars is always heated the grip man operates as levers impeded only slightly by the crush of humanity that during peak days in summer number up to 25 000 persons thank you oh that's a long walk it took me 30 years to walk up here foreign [Music] quite honestly I don't have anything to say for this because I had hoped to walk up here tonight for a little number that I did with my grandchild up in the mountains of Julian and which photographer Leon varsano was nominated as photographer and editor it was a delightful thing and I was going to thank five ladies and two gentlemen since I rehearsed that do you mind if I go ahead and I thank them for that it was part of the California Outdoors series too I was going to thank the little girl first of all vangie Ellis two years old I was going to thank her mother Paula for making me a grandfather I was going to thank her mother my wife Jerry who's with me here tonight I was going to thank my friend Pat Boone's daughter Debbie for singing a nice song called You Light Up My Life and I was going to thank mother nature for making Julian such a pretty place and this lady lights up my life too as well thank you very very much [Applause] foreign
