Complete Record: Reel 1 1970’s Breakfast Commercials - (Patricia Neal sticker on reel) 1.BRIM. Snowy afternoon, flannel-shirted man enters from outside excited for coffee. “Fresh coffee. Only half a cup!?” Flannel skirted, hunter green turtlenecked woman answers “You know caffeine’s been getting to ya honey” 2.BRIM. Husband and wife sit at the table. She asks “Do you like it?” White cable sweater man answers “Are you kidding? How about another cup of Brim?” “Honey, you can have the whole pot!” 3.BRIM. On the harbor, good looking long brown-haired lady says “Hey there!” Man responds “Are the fittings here?” She says, “No,but a fresh pot of coffee is!” 4.BRIM. Architect fella says “Terrific!” compliments the Brim and asks for another cup but must wait a minute for the fresh pot to finishg brewing, and he can drink aaaaall he wants. 5.BRIM. Robed wife gives sharp, vested husband his morning ration of coffee, much to his chagrin. He wonders why ‘they’ can send people to the moon but can’t make a cup of coffee he likes without caffeine. 6.MAX PAX. Black couple. She excitedly explains the beauty of MP’s pre-measured packed single cup of coffee, and why her everyday man deserves great tasting coffee every day. It’s a sure thing. 7. MAX PAX. After a lifetime of coffee making, and our lovely 60-something woman has ‘found the secret’. Wonderful blue shirt! 8. MAXIM. starring Patricia Neal! It’s coffee that really makes the meal,which is why she uses Maxim. 9.MAXIM. starring Patrica Neal, again! Being interviewed in a great pink button down, she talks about filming her latest movie in Nova Scotia, where it was “verrry colllld” and she brought six bottles of Maxim with her. She thinks it’s a beautiful coffee. 10. MAXIM. starring Patricia Neal, once again. Same situation as previous spot…pink shirt, same interview. This writer is finding something a bit sexy about Ms.Neal. “Who’s the boss in your house?” the interviewer asks. Patricia smiles and says she’s a liberated woman but enjoys making her husband coffee. 11. SANKA. Smarmy fella comes barging in the diner and says ”With a one and a two and a guess who!?” complains about coffeeAnnoyed patron with cabbie hat frowns and asks Crystal for the usual. A cup of Sanka. 12. MAXWELL HOUSE. Three women wearing bandanas take a break from unpacking boxes, wanting coffee and wondering where it is. Luckily, Tom the Baker shows up with the donuts & Maxwell House! 13. TANG. Rowena Mathews from Ann Arbor, MI is a Ph.D and a mother. She likes the vitamin C that Tang delivers. “Oh, mom!” 14. TANG. Gail Theis from Saddle River, NJ is also a Ph.D and a mother. Her boys are the ones that introduced her to Tang. 15. BIRD’s EYE Orange Plus. outside on the apartment patio, older lady neighbor sees younger gal neighbor about to have breakfast and shows young lady neighbor how fresh Bird’s Eye tastes. Young gal’s hubby can’t believe how fresh it really is. “you sure you didn’t squeeze this?” 16. BIRD’s EYE Orange Plus. Shelley Long lookalike out on the houseboat, also shown by older lady neighbor the wonderful ways of pulp-laden, frozen Bird’s Eye concentrate. Her husband, played by Robert Pine of ‘ChiPs’ fame, can’t believe it’s not freshly squeezed. 17.RAISIN BRAN. Curly red-haired kid and guy in pink/red button down from enjoy fruit in every spoonful of Raisin Bran. 18. RAISIN BRAN. little girl who runs out of bananas in her cereal stares longingly at boy who is reveling in the fact that he has fruit in every bite of his bowl of Raisin Bran. Like a good boy, he gives her his very last raisin. 19. GRAPE NUTS. starring Euell Gibbons,author of ‘Stalking The Good Life’. Euell picks cranberries out in the snow to add to his wholesome bowl of Grape Nuts. 20. LOG CABIN. Animated. Hobo stick of butter is accompanied by his stoned & happy food pals and travels thru a psychedelic land ending up looking throught the window of the log cabin.
