Also known as Pulitzer Trophy Races, the NAR are a series of pylon and cross-country races that have taken place in the United States since 1920. The 1939 races were significant in that they were the last of the National Air Races to be held before World War II.

This film was amateur shot and not that impressive technically, but it does show Col. Roscoe Turner receiving the Thompson Trophy at 2:05.
