This is a scan of an 8mm Kodachrome film dating from 1938-1939, from the family archive of Fred B. Gary. It relates to his short-lived soft drink brand in North Carolina called TIP. Most notable is the appearance of the 1st prototype Dymaxion car, designed by Buckminster Fuller. Gary had acquired the car second hand, and put it to use advertising his product, until it burst into flames a couple years later and was gone for good. This may be the only known color footage of a Dymaxion car from the period. You can read more about Gary's TIP business here: https://www.fohbc.org/PDF_Files/GarysBev_BBaab.pdf This film is available for commercial licensing for documentaries, etc. Email inquiries to phix@optigan.com. Thanks to Gary's daughter Marilyn Gary Orbann for supplying the film. Any licensing proceeds will be split with the family.
