Aviv, 3 1/2 Jahre alt, wächst in einem Kinderhaus im Kibbuz Gan-She'arim auf und verbringt täglich etwa 2 1/2 Stunden bei seinen Eltern. Yuval hingegen, ebenfalls 3 1/2 Jahre alt, lebt mit seinen Eltern in der Wohnung in Haifa. Im ersten Teil befasst sich die Dokumentation mit Aviv. Aufwachen, Baden Ankleiden, Einnahme der Mahlzeiten, Spielen, Bettruhe kennzeichnen die Stationen des Tagesverlaufs. Avivs Mutter kommt täglich in das Kinderhaus. Der Film zeigt die Beziehung der beiden zueinander, aber auch zu anderen Familienmitgliedern, wenn Aviv am späten Nachmittag für etwa zwei Stunden in der elterlichen Wohnung ist, danach aber zum Schlafen wieder in das Kinderhaus zurückkehrt. Der zweite Filmteil ist Yuval gewidmet, der einen älteren Bruder hat, mit dem er sein Zimmer in Haifa teilt. Im übrigen auch hier der gleiche Tagesrhythmus: Ankleiden, Baden, Essen, Spielen, Ruhen. Vormittags besucht Yuval eine Kleinkinderschule. Der Film dokumentiert seine Beziehungen zu anderen Kindern und den Lehrpersonen. The film compares the daily routines of two children of roughly the same age: Aviv and Yuval. Aviv, who is 3½ years old, is growing up in a daycare center at Kibbutz Gan-She'arim and spends about 2½ hours a day with his parents. Yuval, on the other hand, who is also 3½ years old, lives with his parents in an apartment in Haifa. In the first part, the documentary focuses on Aviv. Waking up, bathing, getting dressed, eating meals, playing, and naptime mark the stages of the day. Aviv's mother visits the children's home every day. The film shows the relationship between the two of them, but also with other family members, when Aviv spends about two hours at his parents' apartment in the late afternoon, but then returns to the children's home to sleep. The second part of the film is dedicated to Yuval, who has an older brother with whom he shares a room in Haifa. Here, too, the daily routine is the same: getting dressed, bathing, eating, playing, resting. In the mornings, Yuval attends a preschool.
