E. Böhme, and others. A youth group organizes a 'singing evening' in their home. You can see how listless the boys and girls are; there is even an open mutiny. Led by Schorch, some of them leave the home and the group. Martin, who thus loses control of his group, is at a loss. 'They're all picking on you!' But he realizes that his group evenings are perhaps too boring, and 'boring someone is an imposition!' There is a lack of a common task to which everyone can contribute. In the meantime, Schorsch has joined his friends in a pub. Here they make fun of singing evenings, of the last trip, of all the group's work. Herbert, who sticks by Martin, is an apprentice bricklayer. The next morning, he travels with his master and the mill owner Lehmann to a half-ruined shack at the end of town that is to be demolished. Master Kuhlmann and Mr. Lehmann cannot come to an agreement, however. Then Herbert has an idea: they could convert this hut into a group room. He carefully probes Mr. Lehmann and he says: 'Well, think about it, maybe I'll give it to you for Christmas.' Herbert immediately informs Martin and together they go to Mr. Lehmann. He is very busy and answers the question as to whether the group can set up the stall with a half 'yes'. Herbert is immediately on fire and alerts all his friends. During the subsequent 'thorough' inspection of the shack, a few things fall to pieces. When the boys have gone, Schorsch also wants to see what the new home is all about. When he is there alone, Mr. Lehmann comes to see what's going on. He is furious about the further destruction and tells Schorsch that 'it's over once and for all. The place will be torn down!
