Udo feiert Geburtstag. Seine Tante hat ihm einen Anorak geschenkt. Da das Geschenk eine Überraschung sein sollte, war der Anorak vorher nicht anprobiert worden. Es stellt sich nun am Geburtstag heraus, dass der Anorak nicht passt, weil er zu klein ist. Udo ist sehr enttäuscht. Die Mutter beruhigt Udo jedoch mit dem Hinweis, dass der Anorak ja umgetauscht werden könne. Die Tante gibt der Mutter den Kassenzettel, den sie beim Umtausch im Geschäft vorlegen muss. Der Umtauschvorgang steht nun im Mittelpunkt der Filmhandlung. Die Mutter geht mit Udo in das Kaufhaus, in dem der Anorak gekauft worden ist. Udo probiert verschiedene Anoraks an. Dabei werden wichtige Auswahlkriterien aufgezeigt. Da der Anorak, für den sich Udo schließlich entscheidet, teurer ist als der, den die Tante auswählte, muss die Mutter noch etwas Geld dazulegen. Nun kann sich Udo über den neuen Anorak freuen. It's Udo's birthday. His aunt has given him an anorak. As the present was supposed to be a surprise, the anorak had not been tried on beforehand. The mother takes Udo to the department store where the anorak was bought. Udo tries on various anoraks. Important selection criteria are shown. As the anorak that Udo finally decides on is more expensive than the one his aunt chose, his mother has to add some extra money. Now Udo can enjoy his new anorak.
