Natürlich wäre dann alles ganz anders. Wie anders, das erlebt Hoffmann immer sofort. Die Enttäuschung bleibt nicht aus. Hoffmanns 'radikale' An- und Absichten und deren Konsequenzen zeigen immer wieder, dass es einfache Lösungen nicht gibt und dass radikale Lösungen sich als ganz gewaltige Flops erweisen. In dieser Episode hat einer im Suff den Opa krankenhausreif angefahren. Besserwisser Hoffmann meint, Knast reicht nicht aus. Knast ist ja wie Hotel heutzutage. Mehr Härte ist gefragt. Und wenn Hoffmann mal (selbst) 'sitzen' muss? Resozialisieren ist zwecklos. Einmal kriminell, immer kriminell. Und wieder legt sich Hoffmann selbst rein. The TV series centers on Ernst Hoffmann - a textbook know-it-all - and his family. Hoffmann's standard phrase is: 'If it were up to me...' Of course, then everything would be completely different. Hoffmann always experiences how different immediately. Disappointment is inevitable. Hoffmann's 'radical' intentions and their consequences show time and again that there are no simple solutions and that radical solutions prove to be huge flops. In this episode, someone drunk drives into Grandpa and sends him to the hospital. Know-it-all Hoffmann thinks prison isn't enough. Prison is like a hotel these days. More severity is needed. And what if Hoffmann has to 'serve time' himself? Rehabilitation is pointless. Once a criminal, always a criminal. And once again, Hoffmann gets himself into trouble.
