Einerseits werden ausgedorrtes Land, leidende Menschen und Tiere als Folgen der Trockenzeit besonders markant herausgestellt; andererseits die positiven und negativen Folgen der Regenzeit: Feldbestellung und Wachstum der Vegetation, aber auch zerstörte Hütten und Straßen. Using the example of the West African dry savannah, the effects of the dry and rainy seasons on the landscape in general and the effects on humans and animals in particular are illustrated. On the one hand, parched land, suffering people and animals are highlighted as particularly striking consequences of the dry season; on the other hand, the positive and negative consequences of the rainy season: cultivation of fields and growth of vegetation, but also destroyed huts and roads.
