Der seit 300 Jahren bestehende Circus Apollo gehört Harald Köllner. Seine Kinder Florina, Marina, Christiane und Harald jun. sind die Artisten. Durch die ständige Reisetätigkeit können die Kinder die Schule nicht regelmäßig besuchen und haben somit keine Chance, in einem anderen Beruf zu arbeiten. Sie müssen beim Circus bleiben. Ihr größter Wunsch ist, einmal Ferien und Freizeit zu haben. The film follows the small family circus Apollo through rural Germany. The artists are the children of the Köllner couple.
