Tommy lived in the city all his life and longed for a summer vacation in the country. A kindly organization makes it possible for Tommy to visit the MacDonald farm. There he learns to distinguish between the different kinds of trees, to recognize the many farm animals, and also to understand what makes things grow. Tommy has never seen a real farm animal. He knows them only from pictures and books. But now he sees and plays with all the animals on old Macdonald's farm. Tommy lebte sein ganzes Leben in der Stadt und sehnte sich nach einem Sommerurlaub auf dem Land. Eine freundliche Organisation ermöglicht es Tommy, die MacDonald-Farm zu besuchen. Dort lernt er, die verschiedenen Baumarten zu unterscheiden, die vielen Bauernhoftiere zu erkennen und auch zu verstehen, was Dinge wachsen lässt. Tommy hat noch nie ein echtes Bauernhoftier gesehen.
