The documentary introduces us to the members of two working-class families in Volgograd and their daily lives. The Zakharov family: the tractor factory, buying a coat, school, the school board, a Pioneer meeting, apartment buildings, their apartment. The Sadchikov family: factory, cafeteria, women's work, healthcare, polytechnic, Komsomol members. Accompanied by narration, the film paints a vivid picture of life in the Soviet Union.
