Rosita Hernandez, ein neunjähriges Indiomädchen, erzählt aus dem Alltagsleben ihrer Familie, die in der Costa, der Wüstenebene zwischen den Anden und dem Pazifischen Ozean, etwa 300 km südlich von Lima, der Hauptstadt Perus, wohnt. Dabei werden spezifische soziale und wirtschaftliche Probleme sowie deren Bewältigungsmöglichkeiten sichtbar.

Rosita Hernandez, a nine-year-old Indio girl, tells about the everyday life of her family living in the Costa, the desert plain between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean, about 300 km south of Lima, the capital of Peru. Specific social and economic problems as well as ways of coping with them become visible.
