From 1968, Manfred Sellge was part of the first generation of WDR sports editors who mastered all facets of journalistic work: he was a director, reporter, editor and was characterized by his in-depth expertise. 'His sensitivity and creativity had a decisive influence on the development of the WDR sports desk,' recalls his long-time companion and WDR sports colleague Johannes Krause. In addition to his work for 'Sportschau', Sellge logically took over the management of the 'Sport im Westen' editorial team, which he held until his departure from WDR due to illness in 2001. The public primarily remembers the 'Football Ballet', the playful forward and rewind aesthetics to well-known music titles that Manfred Sellge developed for the 1974 World Cup in Germany. In 1975, he was awarded the Bambi for his idea. Support my work on Ko-fi! https://ko-fi.com/theartoffilmon16mm
