Die Filmkopie hat eine eigene Magnettonspur, die ich zur Zeit mangels passendem Projektor leider nicht abspielen kann und deshalb mit zwei Songs von Moody Blues ersetzt habe. Die Herstellung eines Bauer Projektors des Jahres 1968 mit einem Bauer P8 L im Jahre 2024 zu projizieren hat schon etwas von einer Zeitreise: Alles begann 1934 mit dem Erwerb des Stuttgarter Unternehmens Eugen Bauer GmbH, das sich zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits einen Namen mit der Produktion und Weiterentwicklung von Filmprojektoren gemacht hatte. Bosch erkannte das Potential der Firma und strukturierte sie um. War Bauer bisher auf sich alleine gestellt, so konnte nun Boschs langjähriges Know-how in den Bereichen Forschung und Produktentwicklung sowie der Serienfertigung einfließen, dass das Unternehmen vor allem auch auf dem Gebiet der Kraftfahrzeugausrüstung gesammelt hatte. Neue Betriebsfachwirte und Ingenieure kamen hinzu, so dass die Voraussetzung für eine notwendig gewordene, immer diversere Weiterentwicklung von Bauer möglich geworden war. Unter dem Namen 'Kinobauer', später 'Photokino' hatte Bosch große Erfolge zu verzeichnen. Den Durchbruch auch auf dem Weltmarkt brachte für Bauer die große Zeit des Kinos und die Einführung des Freilichtkinos in den 1950er Jahren. Bauer-Filmprojektoren verhalfen mit zahlreichen Weiterentwicklungen und Neuerungen nicht nur zu immer grandioseren Kinoerlebnissen, sondern setzten weltweit Kino-Standard. Neben dem Bereich der Profiausstattung hatte sich Bauer auch im Amateurbereich seit 1937 einen Namen gemacht. Mit dem handlichen 8-mm-Film, der damals sehr beliebten Super 8-Filmgeräte, Spiegelreflexkameras, Diaprojektoren, Blitzgeräten und anderen Produkten war die Firma zum weltweit umsatzstärksten Hersteller auf dem Gebiet der Amateur-Filmkameras angewachsen. Das Ende der Erfolgsgeschichte von Kinobauer/Photokino kam jäh. Mit dem massenhaften Einzug des Fernsehapparats in die Wohnzimmer in den 1970er Jahren setzte ein Massensterben der Großkinos ein, das den Markt für große Kinomaschinen dramatisch schrumpfen ließ. Ebenso brach der Absatzmarkt im Amateurfilmbereich ein, als billigere Konkurrenzprodukte aus dem asiatischen Raum den Markt überschwemmten. Bosch sah keine Zukunft mehr für Bauer und entschloss sich Anfang der 1980er Jahre, diesen Markt aufzugeben. With numerous further developments and innovations, Bauer film projectors not only helped to create ever more magnificent cinema experiences, but also set cinema standards worldwide. In addition to professional equipment, Bauer had also made a name for itself in the amateur sector since 1937. With the handy 8 mm film, the then very popular Super 8 film equipment, SLR cameras, slide projectors, flash units and other products, the company had grown to become the world's top-selling manufacturer in the field of amateur film cameras. The end of the Kinobauer/Photokino success story came abruptly. The mass introduction of television sets into living rooms in the 1970s led to the mass extinction of large cinemas, which caused the market for large cinema machines to shrink dramatically. The sales market in the amateur film sector also collapsed as cheaper rival products from Asia flooded the market. Bosch no longer saw a future for Bauer and decided to abandon this market in the early 1980s.
