The case of an asylum seeker is heard before the administrative court. The lawyers discuss regulations, dealing with written justifications and decisions that the affected person seems unable to comprehend. His memories well up overwhelmingly: childhood, persecution, abuse, torture, flight. He feels cornered, runs to the window and throws himself out. During the hearing of his asylum application, 27-year-old Serkan A. jumped from a window on the 6th floor of the court building. He succumbed to his injuries. In the event of extradition to the authorities of his home country, he had stated he expected abuse and torture for his political activities.
