A pregnant woman wants to escape giving birth to her child by attempting to drown herself. In the time between losing consciousness and being rescued by mouth-to-mouth resuscitation by a young farmer, the young woman meets her child, though already in the form of a twelve-year-old girl. An old woman also appears, who like the evil fairy in fairy tales makes prophecies: "Nothing more can be done, time has run out." Regaining consciousness, the woman decides to give birth to her child.
