He tries to persuade children to buy him cheap wine, with something in it for the children too, of course. The intervention of adults causes the children, who initially approach him without inhibition, to distance themselves from him. A scene with other vagrants shows that he is alone again as soon as his wine is drunk. At night he sleeps on park benches. The next day he tries to make contact with a group of children at the Isar river. Again, adults are there to intervene with warnings. As the tramp prepares to leave, a boy reaches for a large stone...
