The film tells the story of four children and their pets. Due to unfortunate circumstances, but also due to the children's inexperience, these animals become ill. The vet they consult for advice tries not only to help the four-legged patients, but also informs the young pet owners about the responsibility they have taken on for another living being. During their visit to the veterinary clinic, they come to understand just how diverse the tasks of a veterinarian are.
