A sober morality tale told with grace and precision. Nothing of snivelling. The grandmother: by no means a sympathetic figure - rather stiff with age and whimsical than lovable. Nothing of an ideal world. The harmony at the grave is deceptive; the mourners are at odds. Nothing of sentimentality.
