A young girl, a sales clerk with a boyfriend, longs for movie role models from her simple, modest life: for luxury, pampering and love. Excerpts from her everyday life are juxtaposed with scenes from an entertainment movie. Young people are encouraged to reflect on the question of how their own social expectations are shaped by entertainment films. The girl Gisela walks through the city dreaming. Her dreams are no longer children's dreams - and yet they are still very childlike. They are the kind of dreams that any of us can have faked every day for two marks :) in black and white and in color, on a normal screen and in CinemaScope format. Gisela, a haberdashery saleswoman, suffers from the gap between her black-and-white everyday life and her prefabricated four-color dreams. And her friends suffer as a result. It's not their fault that they don't look as good as Gisela's celluloid partner. They don't have a dream car, and if they do own a car, it's on strike ( built in 1949 :) They can't take Gisela to gourmet restaurants where two red-jacketed waiters toil over a flambéed Parisian pepper steak under the supervision of a black-jacketed head waiter. Gisela is not happy. And she will continue to have difficulties with herself and her environment as long as she doesn't realize that she has to shape her life herself, according to her own plans and possibilities and not according to the templates of the international film industry.
